ABSURD VENTURES PRESS is the book publishing imprint of Absurd Ventures, the storytelling entertainment company founded by writer and creative director, Dan Houser.
The Absurd Ventures Press imprint is distributed by Simon & Schuster and aims to publish interesting stories of all kinds — fiction, non-fiction, memoirs, plays, short stories, and more — from writers who understand the value of a daring tale well told, who grasp the absurd but fascinating nature of our world, or simply believe that humor, satire or humanity itself can be found in in the oddest situations.
Books from Absurd Ventures Press include:
The first novel from Dan Houser,
writer of the Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto series.
Everyone tries to escape from paradise. Mark Tyburn dreams of building the perfect video game. Kurt Fischer dreams of being a rich and successful executive. Daisy Tyburn dreams of having the ideal father. John Tyburn Smith dreams of fitting in. NigelDave just dreams of becoming human.
Set in the near future, A BETTER PARADISE tells the story of the ill-fated development of an ambitious but addictive video game project that goes very wrong. As the software they developed starts to produce unexpected and disturbing results, the project is shut down and abandoned. Until now.
